Our Afghan waistcoats are handmade and ethically produced by women in Afghanistan. When you buy one of our waistcoats you are supporting local Afghan women and their communities. Due to the complicated situation in Afghanistan is the local economy down, and materials are often hard to come by. We work with 5 Afghan women, paying them upfront to produce authentic Afghan waistcoats using traditional methods and style. Each waistcoat sold directly benefits women, their families and the local communities. Afghanistan has a rich history of creating traditional and unique handcrafted clothing, we want to share this beauty and history, whilst supporting local communities.

The waistcoats are made of sheepskin from a variety of local sheep breeds. These are handmade, unique, and one of a kind items. However, as each item is individually handcrafted made with natural materials there may be small inconsistencies between the items.
